Dear All,

Welcome to the latest newsletter from CyberZone. Here you will find updates about
Holiday CyberZone, AHOY sailing day, enrolments, training opportunities, Easter
closure, volunteer news, and Transitions.

Sadhana,

AHOY sailing day
10am - 3pm, Saturday 1st March 2008
The AHOY Centre have 12 places available for boating and sailing activities on Saturday 1st March 2008 from 10am- 3pm. If the child you care for would like to access the Thames and participate in water-based sports with experienced volunteers at AHOY then please ask Sadhana for a form and return it to Sadhana by Saturday 9th February 2008. Places will be offered on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Note 1: Each child must have packed lunch, a change of clothes and a change of shoes.
Note 2: Children should be collected from the AHOY Centre (not CyberZone) at 3pm.
ENROLMENTS 2007-2008
Children and young people enrol at CyberZone once when they join. However parents and carers should enrol each year to ensure that the CyberZone Family Learning Workshop receives the correct level of funding. Please enrol with Angela the next time you visit CyberZone.
TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
Grants Officer Sally Fricker has successfully secured part-funding for certified training opportunities for CyberZone members. A limited number of members can attend certified courses in Health and Safety and Food Hygiene. If you are interested in getting trained please let Sadhana know.
TRANSITIONS

Volunteer Olu is now supporting members approaching 19 years of age to access information about other services to move on to. You may want to know about local or national services that provide perhaps care, education and training, volunteering opportunities or employment. If so, please arrange a time to meet with Olu to discuss the needs and aspirations of the child or young person you care for.
If you have information that other CyberZone members should know then please pass them on to Olu.

SKILLS SWAP MONTHLY
Skills Swap sessions take place on the last Saturday of each month (unless the centre is closed) and are organised by Angela. In January volunteer Cameron showed a group of children how to play chords on guitar. If you would like to share skills with others or learn new ones please contact Angela for more information - the next Skills Swap is on Saturday 23rd February 2008.
MEGABYTES@CYBERZONE
Vera and Craig
We are pleased to announce that volunteer Vera was awarded a level 2 certificate in Food Hygiene just before Christmas. Member Craig has recently taken on volunteering duties and will be working with Vera at lunch times.
